Maintain the Momentum

CELEBRATING THE MOMENTUM!

  • Record Setting VBS!
    • 194 registered, 162 attended
    • 15 Child Professions, 1 Parent Profession
  • Record Setting Year in Sunday School!

How to Maintain the Momentum?

Trinity Baptist Church can maintain this amazing, God-given momentum by committing to four key priorities:

1.     Starting New Classes and Developing More Teachers!

  • August 2nd– Reorganizing our Adult 1 and Adult 2 Sunday School!

2.     Making Regular Connections

The Why- Why Regular Connections Fuel Growth & Momentum:

  • People are more likely to return when they feel known, valued, and missed
  • Consistent connection builds trust, and trust builds community — and community drives attendance
  • When people feel genuinely cared for, they naturally invite others
  • Retaining the people you already have is just as important as reaching new ones
  • A connected class creates a culture of belonging that no program can replace

The What- What This Looks Like in Practice:

IN CLASS

  • Personally greet every first-time Sunday School visitor
  • Connect new members with established class members to help them feel at home
  • Lead brief fellowship moments before or after class to build relationships naturally

OUTSIDE OF CLASS

  • Follow up with every first-time Sunday School visitor
  • A personal follow-up after a first visit can turn a one-time guest into a lifelong member
  • Utilize our attendance reports to ensure no one falls through the cracks
    • Reach out to absentees with a call, text, or card to let them know they were missed
  • Check in on class members throughout the week — not just on Sundays

3.     Schedule Intentional Activities

The Why- Why Intentional Activities Fuel Growth & Momentum:

  • Activities move relationships from acquaintance to genuine friendship — and friends stay committed
  • A class that plays and serves together develops a loyalty that keeps attendance strong
  • Social events give every member a natural, low-pressure way to invite someone new
  • Activities communicate that the class is alive, active, and worth being a part of
  • A well-planned calendar signals strong leadership and gives the class a sense of vision
  • When members are excited about their class, that excitement becomes contagious

The What- What This Looks Like in Practice:

  • Plan an activity at least once a quarter- KISS Principle!
    • SMAC, Potlucks, Cookouts, Class Prayer Breakfast, make OUTREACH on Tuesdays and Saturdays an activity, etc.
  • Coordinate life celebrations — birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, etc. — so members feel cared for
  • Schedule a class outreach event designed to reach people outside the church
  • Scheduling in advance gives members something they can look forward to and invite friends to

4.     Pray!

  • Pray specifically for each class member by name
  • Pray boldly for God to send your class new people
  • Begin every class and every leadership meeting with intentional prayer
  • Come on Wednesday nights and pray together as a class

LET’S APPLY THIS!

Pray!

  • Write down three names of people you will commit to praying for by name this week — one class member, one absentee, and one person who doesn’t yet attend church
