What are the 3 tasks of Sunday School.

The Sunday School Ministry of Trinity Baptist Church is organized to reach people, teach people, and minister to people.

Important principle:  We think steps, not merely programs.

I want you to understand how your leadership and ministry in Sunday School impacts the Great Commission strategy of our church by understanding the four steps on our discipleship pathway.

Step 1- Congregation- Worship Service. – Introduction. Connection.

Step 2- Community- Sunday School. – Assimilation.  Growth.

Step 3- Core- Discipleship Groups. – Discipleship. Leadership Development.

Step 4- Commission- Evangelism, Discipleship, Service.

How does Sunday School fit in?

• We can’t disciple people fully if they are not reached and assimilated into the community of our church.
• Your enrollment is a list of people who have said yes to receiving ministry by the church and by your class.
• We must think of our enrollment is a ministry list.

We must be strategic about designing our ministry structurally.

What are the ministry needs demographically that we have right now?

New classes must be started.  How does that happen?

1. Space to meet in.

2. People to reach.

3. Leaders to lead.

Homework:

1. Review 3 Reports.  
Consider if there is some ministry by contacting to be discerned and done over the next week.

1. Enrollment- A Ministry list.  
2. Attendance Report- An at a glance report helping you to see the attendance participation of the people on your enrollment.
3. Contact Report- A report of those who have been absent 3 or more times with the latest notes that we have in contacting them.

2. Leadership Assessment

Are there any key people in your class that can help you keep up with the ministry needs and contacting needs in your class?  Who would they be?

3.  Spiritual/Discipleship Assessment

Are there any people on your enrollment that need to be saved, baptized, counseled, discipled?  Any obvious next steps?
